JEEVANBHARTI, a non-profit organization was established in Surat by Shri Chandravadan Chunilal Shah during the 1940s, a time of change in the Indian education system. The institution was founded with a mission to provide value based education aimed at all-round growth. Children learn about the world around them resulting into a self-dependent and respectable citizen.

This was envisioned under the guidance of Gandhiji and fellow academicians while Shri Chandravadan Shah was imprisoned during the Quit India movement. In 1947, Shri Sardar Patel donated land to the institution, and former Prime Minister Shri Morarji Desai became the President of the Jeevanbharti Trust. After more than 7 decades, Jeevanbharti has a significant educational presence in Surat, providing affordable and valuable education in the Gujarati language. It has introduced English medium and Global medium since few years.

Despite its non-profit focus, the institution faces financial challenges, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It increased the financial burden on the school as it continued to pay employee wages as per the GOI norms, depleting the reserve funds set aside for future expenses.

The institution seeks financial assistance to improve the infrastructure and keep up with technological advancements to provide high quality education and better facilities. We are hoping for community support to achieve these goals and ensure the institution’s long-term growth and success for betterment of the students.

Donations made to this institution are eligible for tax exemptions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
